About the Lake Placid Major Events Committee
The Lake Placid Major Events Committee originated from both the recommendations from the Lake Placid / North Elba Destination Management Plan as well as the 2022 IRONMAN Communities Task Force which was formed to evaluate the impacts of the Lake Placid IRONMAN triathlon. The purpose of this committee is to bring together event organizers and supporting agencies to ensure that all are working in conjunction for the betterment of the community.

Members were selected based on recommendations by business owners, community members, and the involved municipalities, and on the members’ longstanding engagement in event discussions.
