Resource Toolkit

Resources for Adirondack Businesses and Community Partners

The ROOST team has prepared a resource toolkit for our business and community partners to use to help amplify important messages on a variety of important topics. These tools are available to assist our partners with their messaging efforts. Please feel free to use any of these items. If there is a particular topic that you would like us to help address, please feel free to reach out to us at

"Politely Adirondack" Signage

ROOST has developed a collection of posters, printable handouts, outdoor installations, and more to help our community and business partners set expectations of following the recommended health and safety protocols in a friendly Adirondack way.

United States/Canadian Border Crossing

We are excited to welcome our neighbors to the north back to the Adirondacks for safe, fun getaways and adventures. Although the border is open, anyone traveling between the US and Canada must follow certain rules, including proof of vaccination as well proof of a negative COVID-19 test for their return to Canada.

To help your guests navigate these requirements we have created a printable FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) sheet that breaks down the requirements as well as offers information on where they can get a COVID-19 test while visiting the region.

UPDATE: Effective December 21, 2021, COVID-19 testing requirements have been reinstated for short trips (under 72 hours).

#ShopADK Toolkit

Supporting local is always important but this year it is crucial that we all step up and show our support. We are challenging you to make a big impact this holiday season by shopping small and shopping ADK. In doing so we will be supporting our friends and neighbors, helping keep money within our communities, and ensuring that our local businesses end the year on a strong note. If you own a business, we encourage you to check out the #ShopADK Toolkit for logos, signage, social media images, and much more.

#LoveYourADK Toolkit

Education is key in bridging the gap between tourism and environmental stewardship. To help, ROOST is offering a toolkit containing a set of Love Your ADK web banners and social posts for Adirondack businesses to use. These will help promote the new Love Your ADK site, an initiative to help educate first-time outdoor recreators on Leave No Trace principles and other Adirondack information.

Perfecting Placid

As Lake Placid undergoes a reconstruction initiative for its Main Street infrastructure, ROOST in partnership with the Lake Placid Business Association has developed a toolkit for community use. The toolkit is designed to provide resources for businesses so that collectively we can use one consistent message to help communicate that Main Street is OPEN FOR BUSINESS while helping to set expectations and provide information to both community members and travelers. We encourage you to use these materials as you communicate with customers and promote your business.

Hiker Registration Info

New in 2021 hikers planning to hike via the trailhead parking available privately owned Adirondack Mountain Reserve may require a FREE registration. The following tools will help you inform hikers on what they need to know before they go.

"So you want to..."

The ROOST team has been putting together a series of information tiles that help inform travelers before they partake in different activities. These are great for use on Instagram as well as other social media channels such as Facebook and Twitter. Feel free to download them and share them on your own channels.
