Tupper Lake and Saranac Lake Regional Manager

The Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism serves as the destination marketing organization for Essex and Hamilton counties, Saranac Lake, and Tupper Lake regions. We are currently seeking a dynamic Regional Manager to lead marketing initiatives and enhance community partnerships in Tupper Lake and Saranac Lake.

 

Program of Work:

 

  • Project Manager for Tupper Lake and Saranac Lake Marketing Initiatives
    • Collaborate in the creation and implementation of comprehensive marketing strategies for Tupper Lake and Saranac Lake.
    • Ensure consistency, cohesiveness, and timely execution of messaging and media placements by coordinating with various departments.
    • Engage with community partners and businesses to gather essential information, materials, prizes, etc., required for program success.
  • Social Media & Content Development
    • Managing the region’s existing and potential social media accounts.
    • Assist in developing web content, including writing story content and overseeing the events calendar.
    • Oversee updates to page content, ensuring alignment with the overall message and objectives.
  • Management of the Tupper Lake Information Center
    • Managing the Tupper Lake Information Center to ensure consistent operations and the timely fulfillment of information inquiries.
  • Communications and Community Outreach
    • Serve as a liaison between communities and ROOST, fostering collaborative partnerships with representatives from Saranac Lake and Tupper Lake.
    • Attend meetings related to the region as a ROOST representative.
    • Regular communication with the regions on important information regarding ROOST’s program of work and the distribution of other important information.
    • Provide the ROOST team with newsworthy, tourism-related information for promotional PR efforts, content updates, etc.
    • Assist in destination management/development projects as applicable.
  • Miscellaneous
    • Work with team members to achieve set goals.
    • Attend regular staff meetings.
    • Generate daily activity report.
    • Any other duties as required.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in managing social media accounts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to represent the organization at community meetings.
  • Familiarity with destination marketing and knowledge of tourism-related initiatives is a plus.

Event Support Manager/Whiteface Region Liaison

ROOST (Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism) serves as the official destination marketing and management organization for Essex County, Hamilton County, Saranac Lake, and Tupper Lake. Our mission is to drive economic growth through tourism.

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented candidate with strong project management skills and the ability to stay focused while handling multiple tasks simultaneously. Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities are essential for success in this role.
The ideal candidate will be proficient in a range of software platforms, including Microsoft Office Suite, project management tools, and basic website editing programs. A proactive communicator, they should be comfortable and confident engaging with clients over the phone.Success in this fast-paced, dynamic environment requires flexibility, a collaborative spirit, and a good sense of humor.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Event Support Manager:

 

  • Serve as the primary liaison between ROOST and the Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA) to support events. This includes creating local committees as deemed necessary, organizing meetings as appropriate, and coordinating action items with the ROOST team.
  • Act as a catalyst for sport support within ROOST’s service area communities, contributing to long-term economic growth and enhanced quality of life.
  • Support existing sporting events in collaboration with an external event director and organizing committee.
  • Manage the ROOST events calendar, coordinate distribution of in-market materials, lead event activations, and support additional initiatives aligned with ROOST’s visitor development goals.
  • Represent the region at certain trade shows and industry events to promote it as a premier destination for travel and sporting events, while supporting partner organizations in their marketing efforts.

 

Whiteface Region Liaison:

 

  • Act as a liaison between community members, businesses, and ROOST. 
  • Attend meetings/committees related to the Whiteface Region as a ROOST representative.
  • Active ambassador for ROOST, communicating with the community on important information regarding ROOST’s program of work and other important information.
  • As a ROOST representative, help coordinate (and delegate as applicable) activities that support community initiatives. Oversee the implementation of deliverables to support event and committee efforts. This includes design, ordering items, etc.
  • Review the events calendar and bi-weekly Insider. 
  • Provide consistent communication with the ROOST team on information for inclusion in marketing initiatives, PR efforts, content updates, or anything that needs to be addressed in some manner.
  • Regular communication and collaboration with the Whiteface Region Manager.

 

General Expectations

 

  • Effectively manage program of work. 
  • Collaborate with team members to support the broader goals and initiatives of ROOST.
