ROOST Presents to Indian Lake Community Development Committee
Nov. 30, 2017 Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism (ROOST) representatives provided a status report, recapping trends found in the 2016 Tourism Economics Report commissioned by New York State, to Indian Lake area residents and officials on Nov. 15 at the Indian Lake Central School. ROOST CEO James McKenna was the guest speaker at the regular meeting of the Indian Lake Community Development Committee (ILCDC). Attendees were members of the ILCDC, Darrin Harr from the Indian Lake Chamber of Commerce, some community members and Christy Wilt from Hamilton County's tourism and economic development office in Lake Pleasant.
Winter Valley Shuttle Schedule
December 13, 2017 Essex County's Winter Valley Shuttle begins today and will operate through the end of March. The free shuttle makes various stops in Jay, Ausable Forks, Wilmington and Lake Placid. "Welcome World" flags available
December 13, 2018 As a way to help welcome guests and visitors to Lake Placid this winter, when we will be hosting several World Cups and other major competitions and events, ROOST designed "Welcome World" flags that are available complimentary to business owners. Please stop by the Lake Placid Visitors Service center at 2608 Main Street to pick one up to hang outside your business or organization.
Tupper Lake residents turn out to learn about ROOST's marketing efforts
December 13, 2017 Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism (ROOST) representatives provided a destination marketing program status report to Tupper Lake and Piercefield residents and officials last Thursday evening, Dec. 7 at Big Tupper Brewing in Tupper Lake. The event provided a networking opportunity, and a chance for audience members to ask questions about ROOST’s scope of work and marketing strategies. It was also a great chance to reacquaint business owners and other officials with their regional marketing manager, Katie Stuart. The presentation included a snapshot of marketing results for the year 2017, and a profile of the visitors to the region. ROOST manages paid and earned marketing campaigns, destination website development (TupperLake.com), social media accounts, content development, communications, special projects, and creates and maintains a video and photo database.
