ROOST tracks the searches on our booking engine pages and we're already seeing a lot of interest in the nights of New Year's Eve weekend. The chart below shows the frequency each date is appearing in searches for lodging. According to our statistics, visitors tend to search four to six weeks from their desired booking date(s).

For Immediate Release ROOST TO HOST LAKE PLACID REGIONAL DESTINATION MARKETING REVIEW Lake Placid, N.Y. — The Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism (ROOST) invites all interested Lake Placid area municipal leaders, businesses, organizations, and individuals to attend a brief regional destination marketing review, followed by a reception, at the Conference Center at Lake Placid, 2608 Main Street, third floor, Lookout Gallery, on Thursday, November 30th from 5-6:30 p.m. The agenda will include a brief presentation by ROOST staff, time for Q&A, followed by a networking opportunity with light refreshments and a cash bar. “I encourage our marketing partners to attend this informative, casual gathering,” said Catherine Ericson, Lake Placid and Whiteface regional marketing manager for ROOST. “It will be a great networking opportunity, and a chance to continue our ongoing dialogue about ROOST’s destination marketing strategies on behalf of the this region. The regional destination marketing review is one in a series that ROOST will be hosting throughout the region this fall and winter, including upcoming events in Tupper Lake on Dec. 7, in Malone on Jan. 11, in the Whiteface Region on Jan. 25, and dates to be announced in Hamilton County and Schroon Lake Region. Public attends Winter World University Games Meeting; more meetings to be scheduled
November 28, 2o17 Members of the public attended on November 20 an Adirondack North Country Global Sports Committee meeting to learn more about its plans to submit a bid for the 2023 Winter World University Games. More than 50 people attended, asking various questions pertaining to the costs associated with both the bidding process and hosting the games, and the merits of hosting such a large sporting event. As discussed at the meeting, information is being made available including the bidding process timeline and budget, as well as the membership of the Global Sports Committee. It can be found at LakePlacid2023.com. More information will be added as it becomes available. Future meetings on the World University Winter Games are being planned and ROOST will inform the public as soon as they are scheduled. The World University Games is an 11 day, worldwide competition of student-athletes. It stages events every two years, and they include summer and winter games. More than 170 national federations from five continents belong to the sports organization. The winter games include alpine skiing, biathlon, cross-country skiing, curling, figure skating, hockey, short track speed skating, and snowboarding. Lake Placid hosted previously hosted the games in 1972.

November 30, 2017 With the arrival of winter weather, so comes the 2017/18 Lake Placid Winter Guide. The 38-page full-color planning guide is an in-market tool aimed at improving the Lake Placid experience for travelers. In other words, it is meant to help travelers who are already here plan a perfect vacation. It’s full of inspiration and insider tips, covering ways to play in the snow, where to relax, and where to eat, stay and shop. The guides are available at the Lake Placid ROOST office, 2608 Main Street.
