Grow Your Event's Audience

ROOST can help you reach the right people, including locals, visitors, and travelers actively looking for things to do in the Adirondacks. When you promote with us, you get access to a collection of free marketing tools designed to boost visibility across the region. List your event at no cost on our destination websites, get featured in our events calendar, and connect with an engaged audience through The Insider email. We make it simple to spread the word and drive the attendance your event deserves.

Free Event Listing

Submit your event to ROOST and we will list it for free on the regional website that represents the Adirondack destination where your event takes place. These listings are viewed by thousands of prospective attendees searching for things to do, giving your event greater visibility.

Events Calendar

Event listings are featured on the respective region’s events page within a comprehensive, searchable calendar. Each calendar allows visitors and locals to browse by date or category, making it easy to discover your event while planning a trip or weekend outing. Inclusion also increases your opportunity to be featured in broader ROOST marketing efforts.

The Insider

Once your event listing is created, it will be featured in The Insider, our biweekly email newsletter sent to subscribers throughout the region. The Insider highlights upcoming events and local happenings, giving your event the opportunity to reach an engaged audience actively looking for what to do next.

Before you pick your dates, visit our region-wide planning resource.

The Adirondack Regional Events Planning Calendar is a collaborative planning resource for organizers across the region. Event Calendar Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Looking for more guidance? Check out the FAQ section below or contact us today at info@roostadk.com.

What kinds of events can I submit?

Almost anything, large or small, as long as it is open to the public. Examples include:

  • Major sporting events and tournaments
  • Community festivals and parades
  • Gallery openings, concerts, and performances
  • Workshops, classes, and educational programs
  • Weekly yoga classes and fitness meetups
  • Farmers' markets, tastings, and food events
  • Museum programs, film screenings, and demonstrations
  • Guided hikes, paddles, and nature walks
  • Holiday and seasonal celebrations

If your event creates activity, adds value for residents or visitors, and is open to the public, add it to the calendar.

Is there a cost to add an event?
No. Event listings on all ROOST-managed websites are free.
How do I add my event?
Click the “Add Event” button on any regional calendar, complete the short form, and submit. It takes only a few minutes. See the blue chart above for quick links to your region's event form.
What information should I include?

To help viewers understand your event quickly, include:

  • A clear and engaging description
  • What makes the event unique
  • Schedules or activity details
  • Links to your website or ticketing page
  • Contact information

More detail makes it easier for people to decide to attend.

What photos work best?

Use landscape-oriented images that show people, place, or activity. These perform far better than logos or flyers. Many calendars allow multiple images, so add more than one when possible.

Note: Please avoid text-heavy graphics or flyers for header images, as cropping and text overlays on the website may make them hard to read.

How long does approval take?

Most events are approved within two business days. If more information is needed, a ROOST team member will contact you.

Not sure which region your event is in?

If you are unsure which regional calendar to use, visit our “Find Your Region” page to look up your town and see which destination zone it belongs to. Once you find your region, use that calendar’s “Add Event” button to submit your listing. If you still need help, email info@roostadk.com and our team will point you in the right direction.

Can I list my event on more than one regional calendar?
Yes, especially if your event attracts visitors from multiple communities. Submit it to the region where it takes place, then email your ROOST regional representative to request cross-listing.
Need to update an event?
Use the “Contact Us” link on your region’s website and we will update it for you.
