What can we help You find?
By the numbers - ROOST's websites' views
October, 2017
Year to date, ROOST's websites have garnered 2,898,757 sessions, or website visits. This includes our eight destination websites and the umbrella site, adirondacks, usa.
It represents an increase of 8.5% over the numbers of sessions we had last year at this time. The sources listed here are any of the referring sources that generated over 2% of our yearly traffic. Search engines account for nearly two-thirds of our traffic, while Facebook brings over 13% of the traffic to our websites. This is largely in part to our effort of promoting blogs and events to potential visitors on social media. Another driver of traffic is our weekly newsletter, which is number four on our list.
Opportunity for Whiteface Ski Show Participation
Opportunity for Whiteface Ski Show Participation
Area lodging properties can send their ski and stay package information/brochures on the road to ski shows this fall.
ORDA staff will bring your collateral to all ski shows and display at the show.
In exchange they are asking for two gift certificates for 2 nights' stay, for two people this winter. The issuing property can have black-out dates.
These packages will be combined with lift tickets as prizes/giveaways at the ski shows where there is additional opportunity to gain exposure. ORDA may also use for other promotional purposes throughout the season in attracting people to Whiteface Lake Placid.

ROOST Helps 8th graders promote Malone
ROOST Malone Regional Marketing Manager Tim Lamay visited on October 10 with 8th graders at the Malone Central School to discuss ways in which they can promote Malone as a tourist destination. The students have been assigned a project where they become "regional marketing managers" and create a blog, make brochures, produce videos, and activities related to marketing. Tim relayed what role the Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism has in promoting the area and gave them tips to help with their assignment.
The students visited the Underground Railroad, met with Wilder family actors, learned about the history of the Malone Golf Course, and other historic Malone locations such as Morningside Cemetery, House of History, and Vice President William Wheeler's Home.
"It was fun to see the excitement that the students had for this project. I think that this is a great way to demonstrate partnerships in the community and using collaborative ideas to benefit our growing tourism industry," Lamay said.
