The event will be held at the Big Tupper Ski Area from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27. Admission is $5 per person or $20 per vehicle. Tupper Lake’s annual take on the traditional German Oktoberfest, OkTUPPERfest, will feature new fun fall activities, plus great music and even helicopter rides. One of the the event’s new features is a hay bale maze that will entertain and challenge kids. It is set to open at noon. Adults will also have a new event to participate in: the Pumpkin Slingshot Contest. It’s exactly what it sounds like, and it starts at 2 p.m. Enter to compete for prizes for the most accurate and farthest shots. Chair lift rides are free with admission, so plan to ride up the mountain for great views of the turning leaves. But for those who want an extra intense fall foliage experience, North Country Heliflite will offer helicopter rides at a great rate, as long as the weather cooperates. Two bands will entertain the crowds throughout the day. At 1:30 p.m., Give ‘em Hell Harry is set to take the stage. The local duo of brothers Ben and Andrew McClelland will play their amazing riffs and unique covers. Then from 4 to 6 p.m., local legends Sling Shot will rock the crowd with their classic rock stylings. For nearly 20 years, Max Gerstenberger, Glen Gonyea, Rob Burnell, along with Ivan McNamara, have entertained the North Country, so come rock out with them.
