Resident and Business Sentiment Survey
Our annual check-in with people who live and run businesses here.
Our annual check-in with people who live and run businesses here.
Large sample size of residents from the Adirondacks.
Most residents see tourism as a net positive on their community.
A majority of residents feel affordable housing is a top concern.
Each year ROOST asks residents and local business owners to tell us how tourism affects jobs, businesses, housing, quality of life and local services. The surveys are distributed to garner responses about both the benefits of tourism (jobs, revenue, new amenities) and its pressures (housing, traffic, short-term rentals). That resident voice is central to how ROOST prioritizes funds and programs. These survey results directly shape destination management and marketing choices, event and visitor-services investments, short-term rental and housing-related initiatives, and the budget assumptions we present to partners and the Board so our work reflects community needs.
