2026 NYS Association of Chiefs of Police Annual Training Conference Taking Place in Lake Placid

NYS Association of Chiefs of Police Training Conference

May 18-21, 2026 

More than 225 law enforcement partners from across the state will arrive in Lake Placid for its annual conference. Attendees will participate in training sessions, hear from various presenters, speak with vendors and take part in networking opportunities throughout the four-day conference. Conference speakers include: 

  • John Miller, chief law enforcement and intelligence analyst at CNN
  • David Rausch, president of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, and 
  • Heather Purdy, director of the office of data analytics and program support at New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services

Where: The event takes place at the Conference Center at Lake Placid.

Additional information: It is important to note that the appearance of increased law enforcement presence in the area is simply due to conference attendance. It is expected that many participants will be driving official law enforcement vehicles and may be dressed in uniform.

Participants will visit locations throughout Lake Placid including local attractions, restaurants, shops, and lodging properties.
