ROOST Efforts in the Adirondack Hub Region
This region of the Adirondacks is both the perfect base camp for the rugged outdoor enthusiast and the perfect destination for a family getaway. The Towns of Schroon Lake, Minerva, Newcomb, and North Hudson collectively offer natural beauty, thriving arts, long sandy beaches, remote wilderness tracts, and endless waterways.
LEISURE MARKETING
- In 2020, after a multi-year effort with the communities of Newcomb, North Hudson, Minerva, and Schroon Lake, ROOST launch the new Adirondack Hub brand.
- ROOST has created AdirondackHub.com as the marketing fulfillment mechanism for the Schroon Lake Region. Our office hosts, maintains, and adds content to the website to provide potential visitors with information designed to help them take a trip to the area. Additionally, we run paid campaigns to attract visitors.
- Travel writer visits and social media accounts (Facebook, YouTube channel, and Pinterest) are maintained by the communications team to increase awareness of the region.
Financial Support for the Region
- ROOST supports the Schroon Lake Area Chamber of Commerce via a contract for services.
- Support for area events that increase overnight visitation.
DMP
The Town of Schroon Lake was included in the Destination Master Planning process that began in 2007.
The process resulted in a plan that seeks to increase jobs and business opportunities, generate year-round revenue, and increase the quality of life in Schroon Lake by recapturing its status as an Adirondack Lakeside Destination, becoming a base camp for Adirondack adventures, and expanding its set of visitor products and experiences.
