Communications Coordinator:

  • Work with team members to achieve set goals.
  • Attend media and local events as appropriate.
  • Support social media efforts as directed.
  • Maintain personal social media profiles and support ROOST efforts consistent with marketing strategies.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with media.
  • Coordinate PR messaging and objectives for DMO geographic area of responsibility with ARTC and ILNY public relations subcontractors.
  • Monitor work of PR subcontractors to execute plans in alignment with marketing and communications strategies. (JMCPR in NYC)
  • Maintaining media kit resources online and digitally for on site distribution (FAMs)
  • Fulfill media requests / inquiries for information, video and photo
  • Manages ROOST brand and reputation – how the public views the organization, communicating to the public what it is that ROOST does.
  • Creates and distribution of e-news to marketing partners.
  • Writes press releases on behalf of ROOST efforts to support marketing partners.
  • Regional media relations support. (e.g. press releases that support ROOST efforts)
  • Assist with the distribution of information in coordination with NYSDEC and ADK representatives.
  • Maintain communications activity statistics, allocated to specific regions, including:
  • DMO/Destination press releases distributed
  • FAMs hosted
  • Media inquiries fulfilled
  • Media interviews conducted
  • Resulting media clippings/links
  • Media events coordinated/hosted
  • Editorial written
  • Media pitches distributed
  • Generate a monthly activity report that includes communications activity stats and other project information
  • Writes story and news content for destination websites.
  • Any other duties as requested
