Communications Coordinator 

The Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism is seeking a team player with a good sense of humor who possesses terrific writing abilities, superb organizational skills, a predisposition to build and maintain relationships, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. This position reports to and supports the Director of Communications.

Duties include:
-Develop creative blog content for regional destination websites.
-Write newsworthy press releases and other media materials as directed.
-Manage assigned destination social media accounts on various platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Snapchat and others as appropriate
-Facilitate all aspects of media familiarization (FAM) tours, including coordinating lodging and itineraries.
-Attend media and local events as needed
-Maintain media kit resource materials
-Fulfill media material requests and inquiries
-Manage photo and video library for media use
-Track all communications department activities such as FAM participants, inquiries, submissions, news clippings, social media stats, and acquired in-kind products and services
-Support regional marketing partner public relations efforts
-Support creation and distribution of bi-weekly marketing partner e-newsletter
-Any other duties as requested.

Marketing Assistant & Visitor Services Specialist – Tupper Lake & Hamilton County 

The Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism (ROOST) is looking to hire an outgoing individual to support outbound marketing programs and in-region visitors service efforts for Tupper Lake and Hamilton County. This position reports to the Director of Destination Development Projects and Tupper Lake & Hamilton County Marketing Manager.

Duties include:
Marketing & Communications: 
-Write a weekly blog post to display on Tupper Lake and/or Adirondack Experience tourism website.
-Social Media: manage the region’s Facebook, Google+, Pinterest, Instagram accounts in coordination with ROOST Communications Director.
-Assist in educating regional marketing partners regarding marketing opportunities available via ROOST programs (website, PR, printed collateral, brochure distribution, Special Programs, Inntopia, etc.).
-Assist ROOST photographer and videographer with uploading and tagging media assets.
-Maintain area events database in coordination with ROOST Events Manager and Hamilton County Tourism Dept.
-Maintain ROOST business listings, ILNY Listings and any other database requirements for Tupper Lake & Hamilton County.
Visitor Services:
-Respond to visitor inquiries (phone, e-mail and in person).
-Track leads generated
-Replenish visitor center brochure racks, maintain lobby, tidy & restock bathrooms as necessary, etc.
Other:
-Maintain personal social media profiles and support ROOST efforts consistent with marketing strategies.
-Assist Director of Destination Development Projects with projects as necessary.
-Weekend and evening work hours may be required.
-Any other tasks as required.
Skills Required:
-Must enjoy working with the public and meeting new people.
-Strong written and oral communication skills.
-Ability to solve routine problems.
-General knowledge and understanding of what Tupper Lake and Adirondack region have to offer to the traveling public.
