Conference Center Sales & Service Coordinator

ROOST is looking for a Conference Center Sales & Service Coordinator in its Lake Placid, NY office.

Responsibilities will vary according to the conference center needs and include but are not limited to the following:

  • Work with clients from other salespersons in the office on the execution of their conference center event. This includes:
    • Work with client on all aspects of conference set up, including room layouts, food & beverage needs, audio visual needs, agendas, vendors/exhibitors and transportation
    • Menu planning, work with client and on-site caterer, Centerplate, to finalize BEO for client signature and compile and distribute final BEO packets to both client and internal staff
    • Create and finalize conference agenda
    • Schedule internal and client meetings
    • Promote conference locally
    • Complete conference / group summary in a timely manner
  • Facilitate reservations over the phone through our central reservations system
  • Manage social media accounts, both during events and non-event times
  • Create, organize and facilitate client off-site activities; work with ORDA (Olympic Regional Development Authority) to plan and execute off-site events
  • Attends trade shows / networking events to promote the destination as a convention destination as directed
  • Record the daily activities and histories pertinent to the client or prospect
  • Assist in generating new conference business
  • Assist with coordinating familiarization tours
  • Assist with special projects as needed
  • Maintain close working relations with area hotels, Olympic facilities and serve as a liaison between the client and these facilities
  • Exceed guest expectations and partner’s expectations as well as company goals
  • Contributes to team effort, as well as to personal and professional growth
  • Generates monthly summary reports to submit to Director of Sales
  • Update Salesforce (sales tracking system) on a regular basis
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and filing
  • Any other duties as assigned

Videographer and Digital Media
Full-time job

ROOST is looking for a Videographer and Digital Media staff member to be based out of its Lake Placid, NY office.

Position Duties:

  • Work with team to cultivate and execute a shot list
  • Take video and some photos when necessary
  • Handle all video needs for ROOST, including adventure video, conferences, events, products, and business promotions
  • Edit video and photos as needed for marketing initiatives
  • Create a variety of media content such as 360 degree, short format, interviews, etc.
  • Maintain ROOST media database and media library
  • Support the overall delivery of all digital marketing and communications
  • When necessary, work as liaison with contracted area videographers
  • Maintain FAA Remote Pilot Certificate (Part 107 commercial drone license)
  • Maintain personal social media accounts and support office initiatives
  • Any other duties as requested

Applicant Requirements / Preferences:

  • Submit a portfolio of work
  • Be available to work on weekends, holidays, early mornings, and evenings
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle for use. Mileage is reimbursed.
  • Position can be physically demanding. Applicants should be prepared to hike, ski, etc.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere required. Adobe Photoshop experience preferred
  • Have, or obtain on the job, a FAA Remote Pilot Certificate (Part 107 commercial drone license)
  • Experience with videography for both web and television mediums preferred
  • Strong writing skills preferred
